Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts
The DCCA, founded in 1979, presents over 30 exhibitions annually of regionally, nationally and internationally recognized artists that explore topical issues in contemporary art and society.
Delaware is home to many local arts and museums ranging from historical to contemporary.
These museums are near the Pike Creek area. Longwood Gardens is also very close to Pike Creek, just over the PA border.
Winterthur was founded by Henry Francis du Pont. Winterthur is the premier museum of American decorative arts. Its reflects both early America and the du Pont family’s life here. The Delaware Museum of Natural History opened its doors in 1972. Designed to excite and inform people about the natural world through exploration and discovery. The Community Gallery at DCH offers a unique opportunity for regional artists to exhibit work with horticultural or environmental themes. In 2015, the facility will include gallery space for local and regional artists shows. that align with greening and education mission.
